West Coast Furniture Bank has been operating since 2007 and aims to assist people who are in need, often people who were previously homeless, by providing basic necessities for their homes when they are unable to afford the purchase of those items themselves. This includes items of furniture such as suites, tables, chairs, beds, drawer units and wardrobes, as well as fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines. We are sometimes given carpets and curtains, bedding, towels etc and have recently branched out into collecting baby and infant clothing.

We are given these used but serviceable items by friends, acquaintances and contacts around the West of Scotland. We store them in our warehouse in Stevenston until they are needed. We are notified of people in need by Social Services, Housing Associations, Criminal Justice Services and organisations such as Womens Aid and then provide and deliver whatever items we have that they need.

We make no charge whatever to anyone, but any contributions offered and any donations we receive go towards offsetting our fuel costs.
